Luthier Made Jewellery – LMJ

I’m very excited to announce that my range of jewellery will soon be available to buy from a local gallery. I’ve been trying my hand at a new twist on jewellery – using materials, tools and techniques usually reserved for musical instrument making.
Luthier Made Jewellery or LMJ for short is a new range of jewellery made from beautiful hardwood and tonewood such as Ebony, Rosewood, Walnut, Purpleheart, Spruce, Mahogany, Bog-Oak and Cedar – left over from Ukulele building.
The full range of brooches, pendants, earrings, necklaces and cuff-links will be available alongside some of Brighton’s most exciting and cutting edge artists and creators, seven days a week in Studio 45 at the entrance to the Open Market on London Road, Brighton.
I guess you could call it up-cycling but with such incredibly fine materials to start with there isn’t much higher you can get (without artificial additives). This is just a selection from the range, which will continue to develop as one of pieces, using materials left over from ukulele making.
