LMJ – Luthier Made Jewellery
From the workshop of Stringit & Strumit comes a new twist on jewellery – using materials, tools and techniques usually reserved for musical instrument making.
Luthier Made Jewellery or LMJ for short is a new range of jewellery made from beautiful hardwood and tonewood such as Ebony, Rosewood, Walnut, Purpleheart, Spruce, Mahogany, Bog-Oak and Cedar – left over from Ukulele building.
These carefully selected off-cuts are inlaid with fret-wire, pufling, shell and contrasting woods, then polished and set with jewellery findings. Finally the jewellery is oiled to protect and preserve its beauty… creating unique and individual pieces of fine jewellery, while utilising many of the tools and techniques of a luthier.
The full range of brooches, pendants, earrings, necklaces and cuff-links are available alongside some of Brighton’s most exciting and cutting edge artists and creators, seven days a week in Studio 45 at the entrance to the Open Market on London Road, Brighton.
The perfect gift for players of Guitar, Ukulele, Mandolin, Banjo or any other fretted instrument.
